Charles Gardner named Unsung Hero

Lehigh County Office and Aging and Adult Services presented a program May 15 in the Zentz Center at Fellowship Community, Whitehall, recognizing senior citizens for their contributions to the quality of life in the county.

Charles Gardner, 74, Orefield, a veterinarian and a clinical counselor, was one of 19 older adults awarded the title of Unsung Hero, for enhancing the lives of others.

These recipients were chosen by friends, families and recipients for their talents during the past year.

The program was coordinated by Jessica Yaich, program analyst, Aging and Adult Services for Lehigh County.

Lehigh County Executive Phil Armstrong, JR Reed, Office of Aging and Adult Services, and Arthur DiLoreto, former deputy director, Pa. Association of Area Agencies on Aging, were the presenters at the Unsung Heroes Awards 2024.
