Robert E. “Bob” Dorshimer, 78, of Schnecksville, died on July 16, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Susan A. (Miller) Dorshimer, were married 28 years.

Born Feb. 22, 1946, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Earl G. and Madelon A. (Marcks) Dorshimer.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was the owner and operator of the former BD Machinery, Orefield, for many years before retiring.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son Robert Dorshimer of Colorado; daughter Melissa Dorshimer and her husband, Kevin Heidt, of Pottstown; sister Gloria M. Gallagher of Whitehall; and five grandchildren.
