Linda L. Zeiser
Linda L. Zeiser died peacefully on July 21, 2024, in her home.
She was the wife of the Rev. Samuel R. Zeiser.
Born Aug. 7, 1940, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Ethel (Billings) Montgomery.
She graduated from William Allen High School.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Her life is best portrayed in a letter she received a few weeks before her death from a man whom she taught in Sunday School three decades ago.
He wrote: “What an amazing person you are. You are filled with love. So much love that people can see it from you.
“It beams from you like a light and shines in a way that cannot be hidden.
“You were by far my favorite Sunday School teacher! You were always so kind and patient with me.
“You had such an impact on my life. You helped to shape me into the person I am today.
“It was a pleasure to be around you.
“Mostly I want to say thank you for being part of my life and for all the kindness and love you’ve shown to me and my family.
“You are one of the angels that I have met in my life and I’m grateful for you.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Christopher Kleckner, Robin Grantham and Samantha Astor; grandchildren Christopher, Dominique and David (Danté) Grantham, Melissa Kraftician, Jessica Roma, Tara Desjardins and Henry, Theodore, James, Lillian and Sadie Astor; great-granddaughter Mackenzie Roberts; and great-great-granddaughter Lilah Sidlar.
She was predeceased by her parents, son Michael Kleckner, and siblings Elva Sechler, Alice Wisser, Mary Lou Uhler, Jean Yocum, William Montgomery and Ann Holtzleitzer.
Her service will be 1 p.m. July 27 at Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 Hamilton St., Allentown.
Visitation with family for one hour before the service.
Interment at Memorial Chapel of the Resurrection, Mauch Chunk Cemetery, South Avenue, Jim Thorpe.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Samuel and Linda Zeiser Scholarship Fund for Seminarians, Northeastern PA Synod, 2354 Grove Road, Allentown, PA 18109.
