Eric M. Reed, 74, of Slatington and formerly of Catasauqua and Levittown, died July 18, 2024, in his home. He was the husband of Joanne (Leferovich) Reed for 46 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stanley N. and Judith (Guss) Reed.

He graduated from Neshaminy High School. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Bucks County Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Millersville University.

After working as a substitute teacher for a few years, he shifted his working career to plumbing to follow in his father’s and family’s footsteps. He first started working with family, then worked for Schuler Service, Allentown, and finished his career with Steve Agentis Plumbing, Bethlehem, in 2013. He was a master plumber.

He was a member of Lehigh Valley Grace Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen with Kaleena Neff of Lehighton; a daughter, Erica Green with Kevin of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three sisters, Susan Oeschle with Ed of Center Valley, Linda Fitzgibons of Bristol and Jan Hankel with Bruce of Morrisville; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Alivia, Lucas, Felix, Adalyn and Anna; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Jerry.

Funeral services are private.
