Christine A. Erck, 73, of South Whitehall Township, died peacefully July 15, 2024, surrounded by her family in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The devoted wife of Daniel Erck, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last November.

Born in Phillipsburg, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Grainda) Chando.

She was a 1969 graduate of Phillipsburg Catholic High School Class and earned her degree in sociology from The College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J., in 1973.

She retired as a manager of the taxpayer advocacy group for the IRS after 30 years of service.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

She enjoyed traveling, the beach, a good dessert (just a taste), reading, walking, crosswords and doing puzzles.

Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Her favorite saying was β€œIt’s nice to be with you!”

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a son Alan W. and his wife, April Q. Erck, of Westfield, N.J.; daughter Jessica A. and her husband, David A. Hollander, of South Whitehall Township; identical twin sister Charlene E. Chando of Easton, Md.; sisters Cheryl C. Komline and her husband, Christopher, of Gladstone, N.J. and Caryl Ann and her husband. Juan Almodovar of Somerville, N.J.; grandchildren Dylan, Cassidy, Jackson, Charlie and Quinn; and many nieces and nephews.
