Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Cocco) Honey Hartz, 71, of Slatington, died July 13, 2024, at her residence.

She and her husband, Thomas P. Hartz, were married 12 years.

Born July 13, 1953, in Canada, she was the daughter of Barbara Ann (Bickel) Knecht of Slatington.

A registered nurse, she was employed in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for eight years before retiring.

Before that, she worked in the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg, for 17 years.

A compassionate and caring person, she was incredibly generous, both with her time and her money.

Known for her love of family, friends, food and travel, she had a special fondness for Christmas year round.

She will be remembered for her joyful spirit and warm heart.

Her glowing, genuine, room filling smile will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by sons William R. Honey III (Kristine) of Cumming, Ga., Brian A. Honey (Amy) of High Point, N.C, and Andrew C. Trumbore (Charity) of Freemansburg; stepchildren Kellen T. Hartz of Jim Thorpe, Kristie L. Frazier (Mike) of Wayne, Kory T. Hartz of Vera Cruz, and Keri L. Hartz of Cornville, Maine; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Her memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. July 26 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.

Family and friends may pay their respects noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday before the service in the funeral home.
