Northampton: Northampton Community Days underway at park

Northampton Community Days, hosted by Northampton Exchange Club, continues through July 20 at Municipal Park, Laubach Avenue and Smith Lane, with the annual Fireman’s Parade starting 5:30 p.m. July 20. The event includes rides, food trucks, vendors, a bingo tent, two stages for music and fireworks.

Pink Pumpkins Coins 4 Chemo is planning its annual car show and bike run fundraiser for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 20 at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, 2110 Canal St. There will be crafts and vendors, a 50/50 raffle, a basket social, door prizes, food, live music and trophies for cars and bikes.

Admission is free, but there is a fee associated with car and bike registration, which begins 10 a.m. Kickstands go up 11 a.m. Any pet food donation earns a special prize entry.

All proceeds go to the Prager Patient Assistance Fund in the Lehigh Valley Health Network, which helps cancer patients currently in treatment with financial assistance for nonclinical everyday expenses.

The rain date is set for Aug. 25.

Siegfried Railroad Station Museum, West 21st and Canal streets, and Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum, 1401 Laubach Ave., will be open to visitors 1-4 p.m. July 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. July 27 and noon-4 p.m. July 28.

This month, there is a special program called Passport to History, during which time historical societies and other sites will be open.

Gardeners, your skills are needed. With three new gardens coming to Canal Street Park, volunteers are needed now more than ever to help the public works department.
