Whitehall Lions Club is partnering with Vision to Learn to provide free eye exams by appointment and glasses for children in need. The Vision to Learn mobile clinic will be at Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road, Aug. 22.

Eligible children will receive a routine eye exam from a licensed independent eye doctor. The results of the exam will be shared with the child’s parent or guardian.

If the exam reveals a need for glasses, the child will pick out glasses and frames. The glasses will be delivered three or four weeks after the exam. If applicable, the exam and glasses will be billed to the child’s Medicaid benefits.

If the child has been examined by an eye doctor within the past 12 months and has a valid prescription but has not yet selected glasses, Vision to Learn will assist the child in selecting an eyeglass frame and will order glasses with the provided prescription.
