The Catasauqua Post Office, 205 Bridge St., remains closed, until further notice, according to a sign posted by Darnell V. Wilson, Catasauqua postmaster.
The closure is reportedly due to a partial collapse of the ceiling June 20. A cause has not been identified.
Residents have shared via social media that the ceiling collapse caused damage to the lobby area of the facility.
The collapse is reportedly forcing residents to pick up their mail in Allentown.
There have been suggestions made that residents could go to post offices in Whitehall, 1105 Schadt Ave., or Coplay, 918 Chestnut St., for specific postal services.
According to one post in the ANYTHING Catasauqua, PA Facebook group, residents said they had to pick up mail at 1000 Postal Road, Allentown. The post also stated prepaid packages and outgoing mail can be dropped off at this location, but you cannot purchase stamps and/or other services.
While the post office website says the Bridge Street location is still open, attempts to call have been unsuccessful.
