Falcons split two games in LV Summer League

The Salisbury High School boys basketball team tied a bow on the first major tournament of the summer at the Cedar Beach Bash at the Beach event two weekends ago and got back into competition in the Lehigh Valley Summer League this past week.

The Falcons split two games last week and have now won six of their last seven games overall.

Salisbury took down Lehighton from the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference 47-37 last Tuesday night at Whitehall High School. It is the fourth straight victory by double figures. Bryan Gonzalez led the way with 14 points in a game-high.

Two nights later, however, the Falcons suffered their first setback in six games as they fell to Brandywine 51-46 on Thursday night back at Whitehall.

Salisbury has a 6-2 overall record and sits in a three-way tie for first place with Lehighton and Warren Hills in the Small School Division.

The Falcons play just one game this week due to the Fourth of July holiday. They take on Catasauqua, who is just behind the three in first place at 5-3, on Tuesday night at 8 p.m., at Whitehall.
