GUEST VIEW I Adventure continues at your library
Don’t forget to check out the improvements to the Parkland Community Library website.
The Calendar of Events and Quick Links to e-resources are now more visible.
To see the entire monthly calendar, visit parklandlibrary.org/calendar.
By the end of June, 570 readers of all ages have signed up for the Summer Reading Club.
If you still need to sign up, no worries, the club runs through to Aug. 3.
This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
Sign up in person or online through the Beanstack app.
By signing up, you’re showing your support for family literacy and your local library, even if you don’t want to enjoy the giveaways or have a chance at prizes.
The Summer Reading Club closing party is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 10.
There will be a Pirate Ship Bounce house for children and a terrarium craft for teens and adults.
Stay tuned for food trucks and/or refreshments and announcements.
In addition, the Youth Services staff will visit Parkland elementary schools for the annual Stories in the Schools Storytime 11 a.m. to noon on the following days: July 16, Parkway Manor; and July 23, Schnecksville.
The library staff will also visit Parkland Summer Playground programs weekly in July.
You will also see us at the South Whitehall township pre-event movie nights from 7-9 p.m. July 19 at Vistas Park showing “Wonk” (PG) and Aug. 16 at Springhouse West Park showing “Trolls Band Together” (PG).
We enjoyed the summer movie “Elemental” on June 28 at the township building grassy circle.
The library was recently chosen for a Main Street Grant from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for your support.
As always, check out our new books, puzzles, games and Library of Things items including an inflatable movie screen, studio creator, steel tongue drum, chess, disc golf, Ping-Pong and corn hole.
If you’re visiting the library, connect with art at the gallery where local artist Jeanne Stock of the Parkland Art League has her work on display this summer.
Thank you for your consideration.
We are always thrilled to see you at the library and in the community.
