Stingrays knock off Tides in swimming
The Hanover Stingrays summer swim team traveled to the pool of the Whitehall Waves on July 3 when the Stingrays topped the Waves, 369-207.
The Stingrays won the following relay events: Girls 8 & Under 100 freestyle by Lily Molchany, Lucy Kempinski, Ashlyn Cepin, Grace Garcsar (1:24.08), Boys 8 & Under 100 freestyle by Joey Franzyshen, Roman Pancheco, Michael Passalugo, Anthony Simoes (1:22.77), Girls 9-10 100 medley by Abigail Aguilar, Maggie Guerin, Lily Arnold, Mia Torres (1:24.15), Boys 9-10 100 medley by Kohen Greb, Dominic Pellegrino, Nathan Nguyen, Harrison Geiger (1:18.72), Girls 11-12 100 medley by Emma Pellegrino, Liana Brandes, Elena Bays, Ashleigh Baluta (1:11.90), Girls 13 & Over 200 medley by Cameron Alvino, Natalie Brezinsky, Katie Bruno, Angelina Dechert (2:01.13).
Breaststroke winners for the Stingrays were Ashlyn Cepin in Girls 8 & Under 25 (27.31), Michael Passalugo in Boys 8 & Under 25 (28.00), Maggie Guerin in Girls 9-10 25 (24.64), Nathan Nguyen in Boys 9-10 25 (20.83), Liana Brandes in Girls 11-12 50 (45.88), Adam Barlow in Boys 13-14 50 (29.19), and Natalie Brezinsky in Girls 15 & Over 50 (32.95).
Stingrays’ winners in the 100 IM were Emma Pellegrino in Girls 11-12 100 (1:19.84), Adam Barlow in Boys 13-14 100 meter (59.66), Natalie Brezinsky in Girls 15 & Over 100 (1:05.01).
Butterfly winners for the Stingrays were Ashlyn Cepin in Girls 8 & Under 25 (24.69), Michael Passalugo in Boys 8 & Under 25 (25.32), Raya Brandes in Girls 9-10 25 (21.12), Nathan Nguyen in Boys 9-10 25 (19.82), Emma Pellegrino in Girls 11-12 50 (37.63), Naomi Yaniak in girls 13-14 50 (41.97), Josh Baluta in Boys 13-14 50 (31.20), Cameron Alvino in Girls 15 & Over 50 (29.47).
The Stingrays’ backstroke winners were Lily Hartenstine in Girls 8 & Under 25 (25.39), Michael Passalugo in Boys 8 & Under 25 (25.14), Abigail Aguilar in Girls 9-10 25 meter (22.19), Kohen Greb in Boys 9-10 25 (21.08), Emma Pellegrino in Girls 11-12 50 (36.20), Liam Powers in Boys 11-12 50 (36.32), Jonah Korpics in Boys 13-14 50 (34.81), Cameron Alvino in Girls 15 & Over 50 (30.88).

The Stingrays won the girls crescendo relay with Ashleigh Baluta, Naomi Yaniak, Chelsea Hearn, Abigail Aguilar, and Lucy Kempinski (2:14.66).
Hanover is scheduled to host the Bethlehem Tides on July 11 with a 6 p.m. start.
