Gary “Butch” V. Walper Sr., 82, of Macungie, died July 5, 2024. He was the husband of Lucille (Costa) Walper for 61 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert and Edith N. (Berwick) Walper.

He was a skilled automobile mechanic all of his life, working for Scotty’s Arco, Sacks Automotive and Neil’s Performance. After retiring, he enjoyed working as a courier for NAPA.

He was a life member of Fullerton Fire Company No. 1 and Macungie Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9264.

He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gary V. Jr. and wife Angela; nieces; nephews; and extended family.

He was predeceased by six siblings.

There will be a visitation 10 a.m., followed by services 11 a.m., July 12 at the church, 835 Third St., Whitehall.
