St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is holding Vacation Bible School 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 22-26 in the church social hall. There is no VBS July 24.

This year’s theme is, “Take the plunge. Make a splash with Jesus!” Children ages 4-14 are invited to join for cool crafts, games, stories, splashy songs and more.

Reminder: Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., continues its Friday night concert series. The schedule includes Smith Compound Band July 12, Ricky and the Rebels July 19 and Bad Influence July 26.

The August lineup will feature the Honey Buzzards Aug. 2, Trick Stacy Aug. 9, Sons of Izzy Aug. 16, Video Daze Aug. 23 and Social Call Aug. 30.

St. John’s Lutheran Church will host a Vince’s Cheesesteak fundraiser from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 24 in the church parking lot.

The Saengerbund will hold its dining on the terrace evenings July 24 and Aug. 21. Doors open 5 p.m.

The kitchen will be open 5-8:30 p.m., and Scott Erikson will play an acoustic set 6-9 p.m. There is no cover charge.

The borough’s twilight summer concert series is held 6-9 p.m. at Coplay Community Plaza, North Second and Chestnut streets. Steve Brosky and Jimmy Meyers will perform July 31.

The lineup continues with The Castaways Aug. 14, DNA Aug. 28 and 3 Varks Sept. 4.

If your child or grandchild is a resident of Coplay, graduating from high school in 2024 and planning to attend college, university, trade school or the police academy, consider applying for a Coplay Scholarship Fund scholarship.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.
