Claudette J. “CJ” Mathis, 78, of Salisbury Township, died June 30, 2024, in her home. She was the wife of the late Howard Alan Mathis, who died in 2022. Born in Dalheim, Luxembourg, she was the youngest of five children born to Paul and Madeleine (Schoug) Jost.
CJ graduated from high school in Luxembourg and came to the United States in 1965.
She worked as lead machine operator for more than 30 years at Avery Dennison in Quakertown, retiring in 2004.
CJ was an avid reader, finding both pleasure and escape through thousands of books in her lifetime. Over the years, she enjoyed fixing up the farmhouse with her husband.
She is survived by a daughter, Michele Lavell and her husband, William, of Hamilton, N.J.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Allentown.
