A 30-year-old Upper Saucon Township man was killed when the 2012 Yamaha motorcycle he was operating was involved in a multi-vehicle crash around 11:43 a.m., June 26 on I-78 East, Mile Marker 58.4, Allentown.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio, Edgar J. Guadarrama Jaimes of Upper Saucon Township, was pronounced deceased at the scene at 1:25 p.m.
The cause of his death is multiple traumatic injuries due to a motorcycle/motor vehicle collision.
The manner of his death was ruled an accident, Buglio said.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Fogelsville, Troopers were dispatched to the scene for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and tractor trailer.
Police determined the 2012 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Guadrrama Jaimes, a Freightliner tractor-trailer, operated by a 42-year-old man, and a 2015 Honda Pilot, operated by a 58-year-old man from Harleysville, Montgomery County, were involved in the crash.
The operator of the tractor-trailer and Honda Pilot were not injured.
I-78 East was reopened at the crash scene around 3:40 p.m.
Troop M Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, assisted in the investigation.
This crash remains under investigation.
