Frederick D. “Skip” Ritter, 91, of Allentown, died June 25, 2024, in Parkland Manor Senior Living Care.
He and his wife, Elaine W. (Kressley) Ritter, would have been married 69 years next month.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Paul and Hattie (Wagner) Ritter.
His family owned Ritter’s Market, Allentown, where he was a meat cutter for 19 years and he worked at Kressley’s Cree-mee Freez.
He also was a technician at Mack Trucks for 19 years before retiring in 1988.
He was Boy Scout Troop Leader for many years.
He was a member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, New Tripoli, where he served on church council for many years.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Michael F. Ritter (Patricia) of Clarksville Tenn., Terry D. Ritter (Kim) of Bethlehem, and Randy S. Ritter (Carol) of Morgantown; brother Martin Ritter (Rosanne) of Greenawalds; grandchildren Paul, Sam, Danica, Darrien, Ian and Jaylynn; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Ritter.
