Conditional use hearing postponed indefinitely

A conditional use hearing was to be continued during the June 20 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting; however, it has again been postponed, this time indefinitely. This hearing is regarding the proposed 180-unit apartment building along Lower Macungie Road across from Lower Macungie Middle School. The address is 6300 Lower Macungie Road.

The audit was presented for 2023.

John Parish Jr. was appointed to the zoning hearing board with his term ending Dec. 31, 2028. This appointment was approved through Resolution 2024-31.

Bids were considered for the multi-municipal manhole maintenance and rehabilitation project. The lowest bid received exceeded the budgeted amount; therefore, the bid was rejected. The project will be rebid later in the year.

Bids were considered for roadway improvement within the township. Four bids were received with H&K Group, Inc. having the lowest bid. After verifying the bid, the commissioners approved this company for the project in the amount of $366,322.

Resolution 2024-29 was approved for the security release for the ABE Doors redevelopment.

The next commissioners meeting is 6 p.m. July 18 at the township building, 3400 Brookside Road. There will be no meeting on the first Thursday in July.
