Margaret E. Sperlbaum, 97, of Northampton and formerly of Catasauqua, died June 23, 2024, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Sperlbaum Jr. for 65 years.

Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kasprick) Check.

She was a self-employed seamstress for many years. During World War II, she worked at a business in Whitehall making cords for parachutes.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Catasauqua.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Rogers and husband Bruce and Marie Silfies and husband William; a daughter-in-law, Gail; six grandchildren, Kristin, Brittany, Kimberly, Justin, Sara and Laura; and five great-grandchildren, Ariyanna, Keanu, Connor, Claire and Grace.

She was predeceased by a son, Edward III; three brothers, Mickey, Albert and Emil; and a sister, Caroline.
