John F. “Buzz” Yurasits, 92, of Northampton, died June 25, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Mary (Stutzenberger) Yurasits for 71 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Kopfensteiner) Yurasits.

He was a graduate of Northampton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed as a chief engineer in the cement industry for more than 30 years.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton.

He was a member of Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Allen Township Fire Company and St. Peter and Paul Society.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Lorene Kahler and husband Randy, Rochelle Reice and husband Richard, Sharon Urbanczuk and husband Roman and Gary and wife Sherri; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one nephew; and three nieces.

He was predeceased by a son, John; two grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Stimpfl, Helen Paul and Theresa Erkinger; and a nephew.
