Janice A. Searfass

Janice A. (Romig) Searfass, 80, of Macungie, died June 25, 2024, peacefully with her loving husband, Gene, by her side at St. Luke’s Hospice House. They were one week shy of celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Ethel (Tichy) Romig.

She was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1961. After graduation, she worked in the payroll office of Rodale Manufacturing then worked at Lutron, assembling dimmers. Shortly after, she gave up her career to be a stay-at-home mom. In her later years, she worked at Allen Organ as a circuit board assembler before retiring.

Her favorite moments in life were spending time with her family, reading a good book, playing cards and pampering her best little buddy, Bentley, the cat.

She is survived by her husband; children, Kelly Groff and her husband, Glen, of Allentown, Kamie Myers and her husband, David, of Virginia; stepson, Scott and his wife, Stacy, of Lower Mount Bethel; granddaughter, Sara Melusky; stepgrandson, Nathan Groff; stepgranddaughters, Ashley and Jessica; stepgrandson, Logan Seas; three stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Connie Rizzetto; niece, Erin; nephew, Jared. She was predeceased by a brother, Wayne, who died shortly after birth.
