Emmaus High School graduate Meredith Sholder was recently named to the US Olympic field hockey team.
The 2023 University of North Carolina graduate has been part of several US National teams throughout her career and will make her first appearance in the Olympics this summer.
In college Sholder earned several accolades in 2022 while helping the Tar Heels win a national title. She was named All-ACC First-Team, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, ACC All-Tournament team, ACC Tournament MVP, NFHCA All-South Region and NFCHA First Team All-American.
After leading Emmaus to state titles during her high school career, while setting the school’s goal-scoring record. Her success continued in Chapel Hill as she helped UNC win three NCAA titles in Sholder’s five years with the program.
She is one of 15 Pennsylvania natives on the roster of 28 players.
The United States is part of Pool B and takes on Argentina Saturday, July 27 at 1:35 p.m.
