Parkland stays unbeaten in summer league

The Parkland High School boys basketball team has yet to lose in this year’s Lehigh Valley Boys Summer League. The Trojans continued their winning ways last week by winning their lone game of the week last Thursday. After six nights off from its previous game, Parkland was back on the hardwood and took down Freedom 59-34 last Thursday at Whitehall High School. The game was over by halftime as the Trojans were able to ease their way to the victory. Scott Bauer led the way offensively, finishing with a team and game-high 13 points. Parkland remained undefeated at 5-0 overall and is one of just two unbeaten teams in the Large School Division, along with Wilson West Lawn at 7-0. The Trojans played the Bulldogs in a matchup of unbeatens this past Tuesday at 7 p.m., from Whitehall. See results in next week’s Press. They will then have a week off from summer league action and their next game will be Tuesday, June 25 against Easton at 8 p.m. Teams will not be competing in the regular season on Thursday due to The Bash at the Beach Tournament this weekend. The tournament runs from Thursday to Sunday with a double elimination style format featuring 20 teams, and then Sunday is the playoff day. Parkland opens with a game against the winner of Thursday’s game between Central Catholic and Delaware Valley. The game is Saturday at 11 a.m., at Cedar Beach.
