The Bethlehem Tides summer swim team scored 367 points for a win against Palmerton on June 17 and 270.5 points against Lower Macungie who scored 302.5 on June 20.

“We’re so proud of the kids, there’s so much energy on our team, the kids are having a blast, and they’re swimming really fast,” said Tides coach Sara Collins. “A lot of kids learned flip turns for the first time a few days ago, and they implemented it tonight.”

The Tides won the following relay events: Boys 8 & Under 100 freestyle relay by Benjamin Pachon, Benjamin Bobsein, Austin Reiss, Benjamin Bowman (1:49.27), Boys 10 & Under 100 medley relay by James Krakowski, Joseph Black, Maximus Amil, Lincoln Silvoy (1:26.03), and Girls 13 & Over 200 medley relay by Camila Wilson, Alivia Deemer, Audrey Bloss-Ferry, Emma Amato (2:27.63).

Breaststroke winners for the Tides were Austin Reiss in Boys 8 & Under 25 meter (32.70), Abigail Yerk in Girls 9-10 25 meter (24.44), Theo Collins in Boys 11-12 50 meter (43.64), Alexandra Yerk in Girls 13-14 50 meter (39.62), Theodore Shang in Boys 13-14 50 meter (46.37), Alivia Deemer in Girls 15 & Over 50 meter (36.39), and Malcolm Collins in Boys 15 & Over 50 meter (29.32).

Tides’ winners in the 100 IM were Lele Waldman in Girls 12 & Under 100 meter (1:22.57), Darren Nguyen in Boys 13-14 100 meter (1:11.56), Audrey Bloss-Ferry in Girls 15 & Over 100 meter (1:18.50), and Malcolm Collins in Boys 15 & Over 100 meter (1:02.09).

Butterfly winners for the Tides were Lena Blazure in Girls 11-12 50 meter (37.87), Lele Waldman in Girls 13-14 50 meter (36.14), Darren Nguyen in Boys 13-14 50 meter (31.13), and Audrey Bloss-Ferry in Girls 15 & Over 50 meter (33.52).

The Tides had two backstroke winners: Benjamin Pachon in Boys 8 & Under 25 meter (32.25) and Lena Blazure in Girls 13-14 50 meter (36.75).

Freestyle winners for the Tides were Amelia DeBalko in Girls 9-10 25 meter (19.01), James Krakowski in Boys 9-10 25 meter (18.37), Alexandra Yerk in Girls 11-12 50 meter (31.15), Theodore Shang in Boys 13-14 50 meter (32.09), Darren Nguyen in Boys 13-14 100 meter (1:00.72), AJ Black in Boys 15 & Over 50 meter (27.07), and Malcolm Collins in Boys 15 & Over 100 meter (53.63).

“Our 15 & Over Boys and our 11-12 Girls are very fierce and very fast,” Collins said.

The Tides will host Whitehall on June 27 and will travel to Macungie on July 1.
