PennDOT pays tribute to workers killed in the line of duty

A Workers Memorial was on display at the PennDOT stockpile, North Cedar Crest Boulevard, at Route 22, South Whitehall, on May 9.

The memorial paid tribute to the 90 PennDOT workers who were killed while on duty since 1970.

Ninety helmets were mounted on supports with the name of each employee on the support.

Several passing motorist sounded their car horns in support of the memorial as they passed.

Quint 25 from Good Will Fire Co. No. 1, Trexlertown, flew its 40-foot by 60-foot flag over the memorial.

A 40-foot by 60-foot American flag was flown by Quint 25 from Good Will Fire Co. No. 1, Trexlertown, at the PennDOT Workers Memorial at the PennDOT Stockpile, North Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall, on May 9 to pay tribute to the 90 workers killed while on duty since 1970.
