Whitehall-Coplay School District was recently selected to receive a donation of 7,000 granola bars. Junkless Foods and Frontline Impact Project partnered together to provide the donation as part of their Granola Bars for Gratitude program, which celebrates teachers and students and provides them with healthy snacks throughout the school year.
“We at Junkless wanted to thank educators for their dedication, passion and hard work in a small way,” Junkless President Brian Camus said in a news release. “We want to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts that teachers put into educating and shaping the lives of our kids and students, so we are thrilled to have donated over 75,000 granola bars to school districts in the United States this May.”
Whitehall-Coplay Middle School teacher Samantha Neas completed a form to nominate WCSD to be a recipient of the donation. WCSD was selected as a candidate, was interviewed and, a few days later, was selected to receive a donation.
“The granola bars were given to students to enjoy the last few days of school. Our staff enjoyed the bars at the end of the year staff picnic,” Michelle Khouri, WCSD registrar and community relations, said. “All remaining bars will be used for summer programs and to help feed students for the 2024-25 school year.”
