Thomas G. Sabol, 78, of North Catasauqua, died June 19, 2024. He was the husband of Charlene (Karoly) Sabol for 47 years.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Hegedash) Sabol.
He graduated from Coaldale High School in 1963.
He joined the U.S. Navy Submarine Service where he served aboard the USS Sabalo 302 and the USS John Marshall SSBN 611.
He worked as an electrician for the former Bethlehem Steel for four years and then as a lineman and a substation repairman for PP&L Electric for 38 years before his retirement. He worked at Catasauqua Credit Union for 30 years and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association where he served as the Coaldale branch secretary.
He was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Catasauqua.
After retirement, he dedicated countless hours to his church and the school hall where he would do electrical work.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Peter and fiancee Amy Arden and Stephanie and wife Jen; five grandchildren, George Thomas, Charlie Francis, Ryan with Kelsie, Grace and Luke; and a sister, Barbara.
He was predeceased by three siblings, Dolly, Bernard and Joseph.
