Payge Haydt, of Northampton, has been awarded a scholarship from the Lehigh County 4-H Development Fund Board.

A daughter of Leon Haydt and Tammy Lorah-Haydt, of Northampton, Haydt graduated from Northampton Area High School May 31. She plans to attend college for elementary education with a music concentration.

Payge has been a member of 4-H for 11 years, participating in Lehigh County Equine, Farm to Table, Teen Council, Textile, Neffs Clovers and Potato Judging. In addition to her club involvement, she has served as a counselor at 4-H camp and 4-H horse camp.

4-H provides hands-on learning in a wide variety of subject areas for boys and girls, ages 8-18. It is part of the youth development programming of Penn State Extension.
