During the June 6 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting, the board was presented with a resolution requesting approval of the sale of unusable or inoperable materials within the township. The request is to eliminate these items without having to go through auction which was approved by commissioners.
A request was made for a memorial tree and plaque at Prater Park for Pauline Hamelin. This was approved. It was also discussed to allow staff to approve these requests without coming to the board as it also goes through parks and recreation.
The issue for bids for roadway improvement was tabled.
Consideration for bids for manhole maintenance and rehab was also tabled.
An update was presented for the solid waste contract. Four bids have been submitted. Customers were polled about the bids. About half stated they would like the cost to be less expensive.
An executive session was held May 20 regarding litigation.
