The Upper Milford Historical Society will host a presentation by John Fegley titled “Exploring the Jasper Pits” 7 p.m. at the township building 5671 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville. Fegley will talk about the history of the Jasper pits and explain the importance the pits played in the lives of the Lenape. Doors open 6 p.m. for those who would like to browse the archives or visit the displays.

The Lower Macungie Township free summer concerts and entertainment series continues with a concert at the Hills at Lock Ridge Park Bandshell, 7125 Scenic Drive, Macungie. Enjoy The Large Flowerheads with sounds of the 60s 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The Emmaus Garden Club extends an invitation to all for a garden tour where enthusiasts may stroll through nine beautiful, interesting and unique area gardens. The event will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there is a cost for tickets. Tickets purchased in advance are discounted and all ticket sales are cash only. Lunch and a plant sale are included in the price of a ticket and are available only to ticket holders. A wide variety of plants will be available for purchase, most of which are from members’ gardens. The event will be held rain or shine. Mopar Madness of the Lehigh Valley will host a cruise night 5-8 p.m. in Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road, Emmaus. All makes and models of vehicles are welcome for display. Wildlands Conservancy and Lehigh Valley Health Network will host a free “Get Out For Wellness” walk 10 a.m. to noon at the Ironton Rail Trail, 3853 Chestnut Street, Whitehall. This is an all-ages event and participants should dress appropriately for the weather including comfortable footwear. The “Get Out For Wellness” series is designed to encourage outdoor exercise and movement. Registration is available through the website www.wildlands.org.

June 29-July 7

The Kutztown Folk Festival is held daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kutztown Fairgrounds. The festival traditionally includes quilt exhibits, craft displays, artisan demonstrations, food, kids’ events and other attractions. Visit the website kutztownfestival.com for details.

Old Zionsville United Church of Christ will host the annual Dillingersville School House pilgrimage service 10:30 a.m. at the school house, 7226 School House Lane, Lower Milford Township. The Heidelberg Brass Band will present a polka service. A picnic traditionally follows the service.

Join the Macungie Band at the Arts Pavilion at Emmaus Community Park 6 p.m. The park is located at 1330 Chestnut St., Emmaus. There are benches under the pavilion roof and also room for lawn chairs there and out in the shade of the park’s big trees. Associate Director Douglas Bolasky will conduct the concert.

July 2

Heather Andrews, also known as “the thoughtful gardener,” will talk about developing sustainable native pollinator habitats at the noon meeting of the Emmaus Garden Club at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. Participants are asked to use the entrance at the rear. Parking will be available at the church and at St. John’s UCC, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be available.

July 3

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold free food distributions 2-4 p.m. every Wednesday. Recipients must reside in the East Penn School District. Signs will be posted to direct where to park and which door to use to pick up food. Also July 10, 17, 24 and 31.

July 8-14

St. John’s UCC, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus, invites anyone ages 4-14 to enjoy an exciting summer Vacation Bible School 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. “What A Mess!” will teach kiddos how Jesus deals with life’s messes while making a mess! VBS participants will make a special presentation at the 9:15 a.m. church service July 14.

July 12

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold a free takeout community meal 4-5:30 p.m. The menu will be pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, chips and a brownie. Just follow signs and drive around to the back of the church and packed meals will be handed out.

The Upper Milford Township Milford Recreation Commission will host its monthly meeting 7 p.m. at Churchview Park, Kohler Road, Zionsville. The meeting will include a walking tour of the meadow and participants will learn what grows and lives in the meadow and how the meadow helps conserve habitat and water.

July 19

Wildlands Conservancy’s Stream Team welcomes volunteers to help with projects in Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road, Emmaus, 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will help remove invasive vegetation, maintain tubes placed around young trees to protect them from deer and straighten and re-stake trees if necessary. Such efforts help improve water quality in local communities, reduce erosion and flooding concerns and provide habitat for wildlife, according to organizers.
