June E. Pansing

June E. Pansing, 93, formerly of Whitehall, died on June 14, 2024, in the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, where she had been residing.

The wife of Fred Pansing Jr., the couple was married 70 years.

They celebrated a vow renewal on Feb. 14 to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.

Born May 26, 1931, in Reading, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura (Engle) Hencelman.

A lifelong nurse, she started her career at the former Allentown General Hospital as head nurse, then worked at the former Bethlehem Steel in the same capacity.

Most recently, she was a school nurse in the Whitehall-Coplay School District for more than 26 years.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, where she formerly sang with the choir and served on consistory.

An avid animal lover, she donated to numerous charities and shelters.

She and her husband spent many years traveling to various places including Iceland, Europe, the North Pole and all over the United States.

There are no immediate survivors except her beloved husband.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. June 21 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Virginia G. Schlegel officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Springs.
