The Wanderers are back on the hunt for a NORCO legion title, but they also want more.
Head coach Paul Walsh brings back another talented roster coming off a 19-3 finish last year and a league crown.
Walsh and company are aiming to do the same this year, but also want to add a regional title to the mix.
Returning players include Jacob Rivera, Paul Erfle, JJ Cruz, Luke Piripavel, Max Landis, Tommy Mason, Collin Peacock and Nick Zumas.
Newcomers are Dayton Aguiar, Adam Unangst, Dylan Metzger, Jackson Donatelli, Mike Mariano, Zander Frey, Willie Cruz, Christian Hackett, Jacob Strong and Kam Kiensicki.
“We have a great mix of new faces and veteran players who helped us win the NORCO championship last year and aided us in our run to become Region 2 runners-up,” said Walsh. “So many of our critical players were a part of a historic three-year run at Liberty High school. This gives us a lot of experience come playoff time. I feel great about the culture we have created on the Wanderers and just how much the players have bought into it. They are excited to play for this team and they are incredibly supportive of each other. We have a lot of talent, but the pride they have as Wanderers players is what will ultimately take us where we want to go.”
The club was 4-1-1 entering this week with their lone loss coming to Northampton in the season opener 3-2.
With Northampton figured to be right with there until the end as a NORCO contender, it might be a familiar race for both teams once the playoffs come around.
But when it comes to goals, Walsh knows everyone in the program has the same mindset.
“Win the NORCO championship for a second straight year and reach the regional final,” he said of the team goals. “This time end regionals with a win.”
