Former K.V. Knopp Funeral Home employee Alexander D. Maher has purchased the funeral home from longtime owner Kenneth V. Knopp. Maher managed the funeral home under Knopp for six years. Maher also announced that Knopp, who owned the funeral home for 42 years, will remain with the organization as funeral director, effective immediately.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house is planned noon to 3 p.m. June 27 with Maher, Knopp, Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce members and representatives from Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk’s office.

Tours of the funeral home and retail showroom will also be provided as well as refreshments.
