John W. Weber, 85, of Northampton, died June 5, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of A. Cynthia (Bridgers) Weber for 45 years.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late George W. and Estelle (Furlong) Weber.
He graduated from St. Benedict’s Collegiate Institute in 1957 and from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1962 and honorably served his country in the jungles of Augusta, Ga., earning an expert rifle badge and letter of commendation.
He began a 40-year career at Bethlehem Steel, where he worked his way up from the mail room to human resources manager.
He coached East Allen Township soccer. He was a devoted volunteer with American Association of University Women.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason and wife Amanda of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Elisa of Tallahassee, Fla.; four grandchildren, Johnathan, Nathaniel, Silas and Eleanor; and a sister, Nancy of Buffalo, N.Y.
He was predeceased by brother, James; and a sister, Mary-Ellen Blocher.
A celebration of life will take place 11 a.m. June 29 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown.
