John F. Mikovits, 75, died June 10, 2024.
Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late John J. and Rose (Lorenz) Mikovits.
He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Allentown.
He served in the U.S. Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam and traveling the world for more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves, including with Combat Camera out of Willow Grove Naval Air Station.
He worked at the Miklos beer distributor in Coplay, Bethlehem Steel with the PB&NE Railroad in the locomotive shop and at Victaulic as a maintenance electrician until he retired.
He coached baseball, soccer and softball at Moore Township Recreation Center. He volunteered at National Museum of Industrial History.
He is survived by two children, Meg and John C.; two grandkids, Jude and Wren Allen; two children-in-law, Kelly Allen and Erika Farkas; a sister, Betty Kern and husband Jim; nieces and nephews, Cyndi Gregory and Michael, Deb Hogan and Ryan and Sue Greenplate and Matt; and great nieces and nephews, Keegan and Zoie Gregory, Noah Hogan and Abigail and Josh Greenplate.
He was predeceased by a sister, Yolanda.
