Emily J. Dreas

Emily J. Dreas, 85, of Emmaus, died June 8, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown campus. She was the wife of the late Carlton T. Dreas. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Myrtle V. (Schmick) Arnold.

She was a 1956 graduate of Allentown High School.

She worked for The First National Bank of Allentown, Emmaus Bank, Meridian Bank, CoreStates Bank and retired in 2000 from Santander Bank.

She played the piano for the Neil Kline Chorus.

She served as the organist at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus and Old Zionsville U.C.C.

She was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C.

She was a life member of the Mercantile Club of Emmaus and former member of the Emmaus Junior Women’s Club and Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn S. Rhoads and companion, Robert Schmeltzle Jr., of Emmaus; son, Dean M. and his wife, Kerri S. (Schaffer), of Emmaus; grandchildren, Stephanie, Tyler, Justin, Ashley; great-granddaughter, Madison; sister-in-law, Louise Arnold, of Emmaus; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert D. Arnold.
