SAFEGUARDING SENIORS: District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan invites the public to learn more about elder abuse issues and scams at a Safeguarding Seniors event June 25 at DeSales University Center. The free symposium – held in honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day – will have a number of events with the goal of promoting senior dignity, security and advocacy.
The public session begins around 1 p.m. with opening remarks and personal stories from family members of two local elder abuse victims who will share their real-life experiences. By sharing their perspectives of how their loved ones fell victim to the devastating impact of financial exploitation, it is hoped to prevent a similar situation for others.
Registration for the event is required and can be accessed here: forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=QSiOQSgB1U2bbEf8Wpob3vQ2uc7sMtZKr8ODyuqbMRlUNlJJWjlPME9QRkFNNEhQTTdPMTU3VFI5RS4u
