SouthSide Film Festival unreels for 20th time

The 20th SouthSide Film Festival is June 11-15 at Southside Bethlehem venues.

The SouthSide Film Festival has five days of programming, including narrative and documentary features, short films and animation films by filmmakers from the United States, around the world and the Lehigh Valley.

The festival opened with a party, 6 p.m. June 11, Comfort Suites, 120 W. Third St., Bethlehem.

The opening-night film, “The Death Tour,” about wrestlers in Canada’s far-north region, was screened, 7:30 p.m. June 11, Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte, St., Bethlehem.

The late-night screening is “Slide,” by director Bill Plympton, 11 p.m. June 14, Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.

The closing-night film, “Film Is Dead. Long Live Film,” a documentary about collectors of celluloid films, 7:20 p.m. June 15, Cathedral Church of the Nativity.

Other screening venues include National Museum of Industrial History, 602 E. Second St. Bethlehem, and Touchstone Theatre, 32 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem.

The closing night party June 15 is at Goosey Gander, 102 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem.

SSFF headquarters is Deja Brew Coffeehouse, 101 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem.
