Children enjoy their special day at ambulance corps

Cetronia Ambulance Corps opened its doors to community youngsters May 18 for Children’s Day at its headquarters in South Whitehall.

On hand was Starting Over Animal Rescue.

SOAR does not have a physical location but has many volunteers who foster adoptable pets.

In addition, there was a visit by meLVin, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey team mascot.

Lincoln Kline, 2, of Schnecksville, attended Children's Day. His mother said Lincoln is a sixth cousin, four times removed from Abraham Lincoln, hence his first name.

Maggie McClay, of Northeast Philly, traveled to Children's Day at Cetronia Ambulance Corps headquarters, 4300 Broadway, South Whitehall, on May 18 to adopt “Toffee” a 1-year-old mixed breed from SOAR, Starting Over Animal Rescue. Gloria Scheetz of Schnecksville fostered “Toffee” as a volunteer for SOAR.
“Damon,” a 14-week-old Lab mix is being fostered by Brittany and Riley Paules, of Summit Hill. He was available for adoption during Children's Day.
