John DeLeo
John DeLeo, 75, of North Whitehall Township, died June 1, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Campus.
He and his wife, Carolyn (Cuccia) DeLeo, were married 45 years on March 3.
Born Oct. 15, 1948, in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Laviera) DeLeo.
He faithfully and honorably served as a staff sergeant and an aircraft armament systems specialist in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was awarded Air Force Combat Readiness and Small-Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbons, National Defense Service and Vietnam Service medals, a Presidential Unit citation, and an Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award.
An adjunct instructor for the McCann School of Business, Allentown, for several years before retiring, he previously was a program director at the former Pennsylvania School of Business, Allentown, assistant professor at the former Lehigh Valley College, operations manager at Integra Business Center, and district service manager at Memorex Telex.
He also co-owned and operated Integral Resource Management, Laurys Station, for more than 30 years.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, (Egypt) Whitehall.
He enjoyed fishing, science fiction, gardening with his wife, playing his guitar, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Andrea M. Barnes and her husband, Christopher, of Germansville, and Jessica L. Brubaker and her husband, Michael, of Nazareth; sister Viola Laviera of Florida; grandsons Ike Thomas, Braden Asa, and Abel Graham; and large extended family.
He was predeceased by siblings Angelina “Dolly” DeLeo, Theresa Sclafani, Dorothy Brennan and Louis DeLeo.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. June 15 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
Family and friends may pay their respects 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Private interment with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
