Whitehall Township Public Library: Reading program kicking off

The summer reading program starts June 15. Register for the incentive program to earn great prizes for all ages.

The summer reading kickoff event Eyes of the Wild is set for 1 p.m. June 15. The group will present five live animals and tell us all about them.

This event is for all ages. No registration is required.

Death Cafe, a directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 17.

It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. No registration is required.

Stickerpalooza will be held 1 p.m. June 18.

Toddlers to teens can join us to fill a book with stickers or create a scene. Registration is required.

Tom Lindeman will present a program on firefly preservation, set for 6:30 p.m. June 18.

Fireflies are some of our most celebrated insects. Despite their significance, firefly populations appear to be in decline. Registration is requested.

A Creation Station: What’s in your lakes program will be held 6 p.m. June 19. Kids in third-sixth grades can enjoy STEAM learning and activities at this event.

Registration is required.

Rock painting for grades 1-12 is planned for 1 p.m. June 19. Paint a rock, and keep your creation.

Kids can take part in building programs set for June 20.

Duplo building for ages 1-7 will be 11 a.m., and Lego building for ages 8 and older is set for 1:30 p.m.

No registration is required.

A Mindful Mandalas program for adults is set for 6 p.m. June 20. Immerse yourself in an activity-based meditation.

This is a transitional piece, and participants will go home with the skill, knowledge, experience and photos of what they create before wiping away their creation.

Pop-Tart taste testing will be 1 p.m. June 25 for grades 3-12. Participants will get to try different Pop-Tarts and guess the flavor.

Kids and their parents may participate in a parent pal craft night 6 p.m. June 25. Parents and their youths in grades 2-12 can make macrame keychains.

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to come make friendship jewelry 1 p.m. June 26.

A Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs presentation is set for 1 p.m. June 27. Visitors of all ages can learn about and meet therapy dogs.

No registration is required.

Join Martha Capwell Fox 6:30-7:30 p.m. June 27 as she presents Whitehall Snapshot Stories. She will talk about Whitehall through photographs and tell us stories about how she found the photos for her book.

Registration is requested.

The library has a number of clubs that meet monthly.

The book club for adults meets 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Come discuss what you’re currently reading.

The coloring club for adults meets 11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays and 5:30-7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday.

The Good Yarn group meets for knitting, crocheting and other needle crafts 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

Teens interested in volunteering can join the Teen Advisory Board. Meetings are 1:30 p.m. one Saturday a month. Check our calendar for dates.

The library is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
