Northampton: Farmers market open Tuesdays

The Northampton Farmer’s Market is now open 3-6 p.m. every Tuesday until September at Municipal Park at Laubach Avenue and Smith Lane.

Get fresh produce, soy candles, Tastefully Simple, baked goods, smoked meats and cheese, grass-fed beef and pork, gourmet peanut butter and oils, pierogies and more.

The Siegfried Railroad Station Museum on West 21st Street will be open to visitors 1-4 p.m. June 16.

The station houses artifacts of Northampton and the surrounding area. There are permanent exhibits and a special exhibit each year. This year the special exhibit is the schools of the area. Scrapbooks with pictures of men and women who served in World War II are also available to be viewed.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will hold its picnic 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 19 at the park on Smith Lane.

The event is for ticket holders only. No tickets will be sold at the picnic. Members attending are asked to bring their favorite dessert for everyone to enjoy.

There will not be a meeting June 12.

Northampton Fire Department will be hosting its second annual Northampton Fire Cadet Camp. Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 8-12, with a graduation ceremony July 13, at the station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.

The idea of the camp is to help young adults, ages 12-15, learn what a firefighter does. There will be scheduled events throughout each day that will include hands-on training, team building and more.

There is a cost for the camp, which is open to borough residents only. Maximum capacity is 20 students.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2024-25 academic year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
