Joseph R. Hallman Jr., 76, of Emmaus, died June 2, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Zacharda) Hallman for 44-1/2 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Eleanor J. (Katz) and Joseph R. Hallman Sr.
He honorably served his country in the Navy during Vietnam.
He worked as a machinist for Bethlehem Steel and Lehigh Heavy Forge for many years, retiring in 2010.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Zionsville and the Mercantile Club of Emmaus.
He is survived by his wife; children, James Seager Jr. and his wife, Joan, Marcie Shumway and companion, Matthew Hinkle, Christopher; grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Shumway, Sylvia Bega Hallibelle; sister, Debra, wife of Milt Brown. He was predeceased by a brother, David; granddaughter, Talia Shumway.
