Traffic signal contracts approved

The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners met May 16 for its regularly scheduled meeting.

Traffic signal applications for three intersections were approved by commissioners – Kressler Road and Hamilton Street, Route 222 Bypass Corridors and Route 222 and Interstate 78. These three intersections are part of the Green Light Go Project.

There was an open house for residents to share information about the 5 miles of turnpike widening and bridge reconstruction in the Lehigh Valley. Further information can be found at lowermac.com.

Township Manager Bruce Beitel expressed his gratitude to those that helped make the Lower Macungie Township Community Day a great success.

The Spring Creek Road Riparian Project was approved. The lowest bidder made a substantial error on the bid and that bid was retracted. The second lowest bidder received the contract in the amount of $166,948.

The Gun Club Road Bridge project bid was received from one vendor. Unfortunately the bid is higher than budgeted so this project will be re-evaluated.

The 2024 Ultra Thin Project is being awarded to Asphalt Maintenance for the amount of $189,842.
