Jennifer L. Friedel-Hoffman

Jennifer L. Friedel-Hoffman, 60, of Northampton, died May 29, 2024, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was the wife of Eric P. Hoffman for 22 years.

Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Ilona M. (Herbinger) Friedel.

She was a 1981 graduate of Northampton High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in special education from Kutztown University in 1985.

She worked and served many families at the former family business, The Gourmet Inn, Northampton. After teaching, she changed careers and became a flight attendant. For the past 37 years, she has been flying with United Airlines, based out of Newark, N.J.

She became a humanitarian, finding homes, jobs and financially supporting destitute children who married, had families and adopted more children in India.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Henry L. of Bellwood and Paul W. of Northampton; a mother-in-law, Janice of Lehighton; two sisters, Ingrid K. and husband Nathan Eckhart of Coplay and Sharon L. Friedel of Whitehall; a brother, Jeffrey M. Friedel and wife Dina of Pittsburgh; two nieces; three nephews; and a great-niece.

There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., June 6 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home for the purpose of continuing her aid to less fortunate children in India.
