Gloria J. (Jean) Weida, 95, of Allentown, died May 22, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Wayne F. Weida for 64 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Kreidler) Fasching Brobst and Alvin J. Fasching and stepfather Warren S. Brobst.
She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury U.C.C. She was past president of the Emmaus Soroptimist Club from 1975 to 1977. She was a member of the Mercantile Club and active on the reunion committee of Emmaus High School 1949.
She said the good Lord gave her two hands and she kept them busy cooking, sewing dresses, making drapes, knitting, doing puzzles and counted cross stitch and at Easter her lovely Pysanky eggs. She was proud of her German roots.
She is survived by a sister, Carol Ann Brobst Auman; children, Roger (Deborah), Renae Stonehouse (Daniel), Rebecca Werner (Richard); grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Emily (David), Jason; step-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Jamie, Daniel, Peter, Katelyn; great-grandchildren, Alison, Jacob, Alex, Gabrielle, Kylie, Vera, Cameron, Dawson, Melody, Nathaniel; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald T. Brobst; half-sister, Janet Fasching Kern; son-in-law, Robin Kunsman.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus or the Emmaus Historical Society, 218 Main St., Emmaus, 18049.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
