Eddie Astl, 91, of Northampton, died May 28, 2024, at home. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Frisch) for 69 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Stephen and Josephine (Klepeis) Astl.
He was a 1950 graduate of Northampton High School.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He retired from Mack Trucks in 1991 as a chief steward.
He was a life member of Northampton Fire Company and a member of Coplay Saengerbund, where he actively participated in the bowling league. He became an active member of the Mack retirees group.
He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Rodney and companion Roseann; a daughter, Denise Holota; three grandchildren, Jonathan and wife Meghan, Daniel and Jenna and fiance Nick; three great-grandchildren, Brodie, Leo and Macie; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Stephen, Frank and John; and three sisters, Anna, Kathryn and Helen.
Services are private.
