Despite outhitting Northampton 6-4, the Emmaus baseball team fell to the Kids 5-0 last Wednesday in a District 11 6A quarterfinal round game at Church Lane to end the Hornets’ 2024 season.
Emmaus starting pitcher Cole Moreau threw a solid game, giving up just two earned runs. But the Hornets committed three errors in the loss.
Six different EHS players record a hit, including Drew McGeehan, Wiley Fleck, Colin Wilson, Noah Hogan, Emmit Budick and Chad Kauffman.
The Kids (15-7 overall, 10-6 EPC) scored a run in the top of the third and top of the fifth innings and then put the game away with a three-run seventh inning.
Emmaus finished its season 13-9 overall and qualified for both the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and district tournaments. This was the second straight defeat for the Hornets, who also fell in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament to Bethlehem Catholic back on Monday, May 13.
