SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My two parents are Iris Jarjous and Joe Jarjous. I have two twin brothers named Anthony and Dylan Jarjous and I have two dogs whose names are Boodha and Bentley.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is English because I use writing as an outlet for me to express how I am feeling.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been enrolled in National Honor Society since 2022.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I am involved in theater, chorus and extra chorus.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal is to go to Muhlenberg College for psychology to pursue my dream career as a school counselor.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date is trying to be more courageous and more social. I am a very quiet person but I try to get out of my comfort zone by trying new activities. This is the reason why I joined theater. Theater has helped me become more social and outgoing.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I hope people will remember my smile. I feel this simple expression highlights my personality. A simple smile can change someone’s day.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire both of my parents because they have taught me to be selfless and to always help others in need. My mother is an Allentown educator and she always helps students by making sure they have the tools they need to succeed. My father was a former basketball coach at Dieruff High School and he always made sure his students were also on the right track so they would not only be a better teammate but a better person in general.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice is to be kind. Simple acts of kindness can make someone’s day, week, month or even year. Once you lighten someone else’s day, you will inspire them to pass it on to the next person they see.
