Salisbury High School seniors say goodbye
BY NOLAN GREJDA
Special to The Press
With their last day of school near, Salisbury High School seniors reflect on the times they have had throughout their senior year. Especially what has happened in the last two weeks, seniors have been busy preparing to say their goodbyes to Salisbury High School.
Student Government Advisory held Powderpuff, the annual football competition between the girls of each grade May 20. The seniors were able to win it all this year, defeating the juniors in their first game and then the sophomores in overtime in the championship. Congratulations to all who played and to the seniors for winning two years in a row.
On May 22, administration hosted a breakfast for the top academic scholars of the Class of 2024. Congratulations to Jacob Knerr, Thomas Lovelidge, Han Kloosterman, Rachel Smith, Shauna Conelly, Macy Newman, Nolan Grejda, William Sterner, Mikayla Seidel and George Spann. Members of the Top 10 also received a cord they are able to wear at graduation for this achievement.
The Senior Sunset, organized by the Class of 2024 Advisory, was also held May 22. Students enjoyed spending time with their classmates playing games and hanging out. Students who attended were also able to enjoy Chick-fil-A catered by the Class of 2024.
Academic Awards Night was held May 28. Students selected to receive an award were excited to attend and students were able to congratulate one another on a job well done.
Looking ahead, senior students’ last day of school is May 29. Seniors also picked up their caps, gowns and tickets for graduation set for June 2. They will have graduation practice May 31 and their senior trip is scheduled for May 30 at Hershey Park.
Good luck moving forward seniors and make Salisbury proud in everything that you do!
In closing, I have had one of the best opportunities to write for the Salisbury Press for the last two years. I will be attending The George Washington University in the fall (with an undecided major) and I hope to continue my athletic journey playing club tennis. Thank you Salisbury for what you have given me, and I will cherish it always and forever.
Editor’s Note: We thank Nolan for his commitment to keeping Salisbury families informed of high school events. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
